Private Pilot License

This is where your journey as a pilot begins. When you obtain your private pilot certificate, you will be able to fly on your own, take passengers, and explore the sky freely.

The Process 

What do you need to obtain this certificate?

Requisites

  • Minimum* 40 hours total flight time

  • Minimum* 20 hours of dual flight instruction

  • Minimum* 10 hours of solo flight time

  • FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate

  • FAA Student Pilot Certificate

  • Pass the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam

  • Pass Your Check-ride With an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner

*Hour requirements are the legal minimum. Most students require slightly more time to become proficient in all of the required areas.
