The Instrument Rating is the next big step in becoming a professional pilot. This rating allows you to fly in Inclement weather and will greatly expand your capability as a pilot.

What do you need to obtain this certificate?
Requisites

Valid Private Pilot Certificate

Minimum* 50 Hours of PIC Cross Country Time

Minimum* 40 Hours of Simulated Instrument Time

Minimum* 15 Hours of Instrument Instruction

Pass The FAA Instrument Written Exam

Pass Your Check-ride With an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner
*Hour requirements are the legal minimum. Most students require slightly more time to become proficient in all of the required areas.
